As a student of Empire Beauty School, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Empire Future Professionals Expo in Hershey, PA this May. The expo is a huge, weekend-long event held exclusively for students of Empire Beauty Schools across the US. There are over 100 schools, the latest being opened in California! The event was so amazing.... it's hard to describe the enormity to anyone who wasn't there. There were over 2,500 Empire students... additionally there were educators from each individual school, educators and stylists from companies like Matrix, Sexy Hair, Goldwell, and Design Essentials (to just name a few)... And additionally there were representatives from numerous companies that had booths in the trade show area. There was even a class held by the one and only Nick Arrojo!! What an amazing opportunity.
In addition to being an educational experience, there was a huge national competition for all locally qualified students in the categories of Women's Cut & Color, Men's Cut & Color, Artistic Braiding, Nail Artistry, Makeup Artistry, Twisted Texture, and Long Hair Design. I was lucky enough to be the candidate from my school for Makeup Artistry and wow... what a great experience!! I competed against around 90 other students from across the country. I unfortunately did not place in the top 5... But all-around the experience was a WIN!!
